The NSS Unit of St. Mary’s College was inaugurated on 21st October 2022. The chief guest for the function was Dr. Sheena Shukkur, campus director of Manjeshwaram campus, Kannur University and H.O.D of legal studies at Manjeshwaram and Palayad campus. The inaugural function was presided over by College Principal Rev. Fr Anil Avild Lobo. The vice principal Mr Vincent D’Souza and the NSS Co-Ordinators Mr. Ravindra Pai and Ms. Preetha Kumari, NSS student representatives Ms. Fathimath Shana II BBA and Ms. Keerthi I BBA were present on the dias. The function began with the lighting of traditional lamp by the dignitaries.
The Chief guest, Dr. Sheena Shukkur formally inaugurated the NSS activities for the academic year. In her speech she highlighted various issues pertaining to the youth addictions and appealed the NSS volunteers to involve themselves proactively in resolving such evils. She gave an insight about various activities to be conducted through NSS such as orientation on social and health issues, education, blood donation camp etc.
After the inauguration ceremony the Chief guest Dr. Sheena Shukkur conducted an awareness programme on" Say no to drugs" for the entire student body of the college.
Mr. Ravindra Pai, NSS Program officer of the college welcomed the gathering. The NSS Representative Ms. Fathimath Shana proposed the vote of thanks. Ms Benita of final B.Com compeered the program.
