International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by NSS Unit No. 77 of St. Mary's College, Bela, on June 19, 2025, at 2:30 PM in the college auditorium. The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Ms.Mayola, who introduced the resource person, Kala Damodaran, to the gathering. Following the welcome, the principal of the college ,Rev.Dr.Rocky Fernandes delivered an insightful talk, highlighting the significance of yoga in today's fast-paced world and its numerous benefits for both physical and mental well-being.
The program was smoothly compered by Ms. Claya Lobo, who ensured that the event progressed according to schedule. Kala Damodaran resource person of the day , then initiated the yoga session, expertly guiding the students through a series of Asanas and breathing exercises. The students displayed remarkable enthusiasm and actively participated in the session, showcasing their eagerness to learn and practice yoga.
As the session concluded, Ms. Prajitha expressed heartfelt gratitude to Kala Damodaran for her enlightening and engaging yoga session. She also thanked the students for their active participation and cooperation, which contributed to the success of the event. Overall, the celebration of International Yoga Day at St. Mary's College, Bela, was a resounding success, thanks to the efforts of NSS Unit No. 77 and the resource person, Kala Damodaran, in promoting the importance of yoga among the students
