mSS Unit of St.mmary’s College Bela celebrated the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in the college campus on 2nd October 2019. Bellige Narayana Maniyani, a renowned scholar in yakshagana and a devotee of Mahatma Gandhi, inuagarated the event by paying homage to Gandhiji’s image through Pushpa namana.This ceremony was also accompanied by the dignitories the Correspondent of the College Rev.Fr.John Vas,the Principal of the College Fr.Ashok Rayan Crasta,Vice Principal Mr.Vincent D’Souza and NSS Programme Officer Mr.Nagaraj.
The chief guest the Bellige Narayana Maniyani spoke of non-violence,teachings and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi.On the same day ,NSS Volunteers sensitized the general public about the hazards of plastic use and later shramadhaan was also carried out in which students collected the plastic waste from Bela to Neerchal town.
